Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Support Advanced Design Tools team that develops engineering physics-based tools and software
  • Develop enhancements to the tools in the area of Heat Transfer, Aeromechanics, Stress & Life to improve accuracy, reliability and speed
  • Validate tools against test data
  • Develop tool usage best practices and documentation

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Good understanding of FEM methods
  • Experience with commercial software: ANSYS, NX
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming in C++/C#
  • Knowledge of scripting language: Python or similar
