Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Role Summary / Purpose

EDC Aviation Systems Team was established in 2005 and now consists of about 200 aviation engineers. Team in Poland is mainly involved in projects related to nacelles design and aero structure design. We are looking for people with experience in design of metallic and composite components, people who are hardworking, open-minded, and willing to learn.
Expectation for lead design engineer is to take responsibility for some part of the project (part ownership or task ownership, lead group of 2-3 people), design some hardware, guide younger colleagues, interfere with client, discuss technical challenges etc.


  • Design Nacelle composite and metallic hardware design with accordance to business standards, practices and procedures
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Monitor and communicate project status
  • The ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning
  • Identify problems and formulate solutions; take an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Obey and comply with GE Polska Sp. z o.o. EDC internal regulations and procedures

Qualifications / Requirements

  • MSC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience relevant to indicated position areas of expertise and knowledge of related disciplines
  • Significant experience in mechanical design
  • Experience in design of composite parts desired
  • Experience in commercial CAD software required. CATIA v5 desired
  • Demonstrated English language written and verbal communication skills
  • Very good communication, leadership and presentation skills
  • Responsible, team worker, target oriented
  • Passion to learn
