Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Role Summary / Purpose

GE Aviation Systems in EDC is taking part in numerous design & analysis processes (wings, nacelles, thrust reversers, etc.) and is going to expand its scope of activities on other aircraft components. Due to significant engagement of the Aviation Systems organization in Power/ Unison projects, there is a need for an Engineer experienced in Aero-Thermal analysis, who will drive GE Culture and ensure proper performance and further development.


  • Perform Heat Transfer/CFD analysis for Aviation Power/ Unison products
  • Support oil surface coolers and/ or air starter and/or electrical load management system analysis process as well as testing and numerical models validation
  • Ensure on schedule submission of planned deliverables to external and internal customers
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components and/or assemblies consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Monitor and communicate project status
  • Commitment to team effort; co-operation with other engineers
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

  • Qualifications / Requirements

    • BSc or MSc in Engineering
    • Significant work experience
    • Expertise with running Heat Transfer Analysis and/ or CFD
    • Demonstrated knowledge of ANSYS Workbench and/or commercial CFD codes (Fluent and/or CFX)
    • Understanding of the heat transfer phenomena, good proven analytical skills
    • Understanding of Fluid Mechanics
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels in global matrix organization
    • Effective written and oral communication skills in English. Good presentation skills
    • Demonstrated ability to complete projects within given resource and time constraints
    • Team worker, hard worker, fast-learner, open- minded person, optimistic attitude
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good relationship with co-workers and customers
    • Desired

      • Knowledge of Hypermesh and FloTHERM
