BHGEOn Tuesday, July 18th, EDC Oil & Gas engineering teams celebrated the creation of Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE), part of which they became on the 3rd of July.

BHGE is a merger of two companies with a long and rich history – Baker Hughes and General Electric. From now on, these companies will work together to bring the oil & gas industry together – achieve business continuity, minimize disruption and meet and exceed performance objectives in the industry. Around 70,000 people from more than 120 countries will support four product companies – Oilfield Services, Oilfield Equipment (formerly called Subsea Systems & Drilling), Digital Solutions, Turbomachinery and Process Solutions. Among them – EDC engineers.

By the opening celebration, the company has shown from the very beginning that it is very important to work together. All sites congregated on the same day at the same local time, so that the event followed the sun, going from East to West, across countries and regions. During celebration meetings, all employees had a chance to take a selfie against posters with BHGE branding to show that they really feel a part of this enormous project.

We are very excited to start this new journey which will be definitely a great opportunity for the whole oil & gas industry worldwide but also for the Engineering Design Center. Working in such diverse group of world’s best engineers would be for sure a great experience.
