Join the first hackathon in Poland, connected with the Predix 2.0 – GE IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) cloud platform – organized on October 13th, 2017 during the 8th Night at the Institute of Aviation. No prior Predix 2.0 themed event of this type has taken place in Poland before.
It’s a team event for individuals, in which several teams comprised of software and hardware developers are given a specific challenge to be solved from scratch, with technology available at hand. Hackathon only takes 24 hours from start to completion. Usually it demands a lot of coffee, pizza, and soft drinks.
Our challenge is related to the aviation industry and is based on Predix software platform. The goal is to design and configure hardware, and implement a software solution which will combine multiple different modules and frameworks, covering full data flow from sensors through local Predix platform to the cloud. This would involve creating local and cloud implementation which would allow ingestion of industrial data to the cloud, and also visualization of ingested data in a web-based application.
At first because of the technology platform we will use – the cutting edge GE Predix 2.0 IIoT technology. Secondly, thanks to our partnership with General Electric there will be access to REAL LIFE industrial data! What’s more, cross-functional teams will take part in the competition – from Embedded Programming, through Data Science up to User Experience (on Polymer)!
The Predix 2.0 Hackathon is aimed at people fascinated in new technologies focusing on IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things). We are looking for people who like solving problems and working in a team.
It would be great if you had experience in at least some of the following technologies:
predix.io – contains reach knowledge of guides and
tutorials on most of the topics related with the Hackathon's goal including
Predix Machine, DevBox, Services, APIs, etc.
predix-ui.com – contains tips on the UI development including Predix components with API
raspberrypi.org – RaspberryPi microcomputer homepage
dexterindustries.com/GrovePi - RaspberryPi extenstion board homepage
You can find the environment setup instructions here .
Lego Mindstorms are waiting for every member of the winning team. Let yourself feel like a child again – build you own moving robot with your Hackathon award!
