We are pleased to inform that we have just finished another stage of the GE Challenge.

This is a contest for students-scientists, researchers, scientific circles and PhD students from the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. The aim of this contest is to promote talented young scientists, who will look for unconventional solutions that can contribute to the development of advanced technologies. It’s organized by EDC in cooperation with MEiL.

The committee, consisting of Leaders from both institutions and Technical Experts, have just selected the top three ideas that will be developed until September 2018. Projects that will be realized with cooperation with EDC those are:

  • Magnetic bearings for small gas turbines – conceptual design
    The idea will be developed by Maciej Szakacz
  • Machine learning for real-time diagnostics of variable speed gas turbine
    The idea will be developed by team: Maciej Pawełczyk and Szymon Fulara
  • Fluent vs Open Foam Validation
    The idea will be developed by team: Krzysztof Kunca, Andrzej Odziemkowski

The winner of the first edition of the GE Challenge will be announced in October 2018. Each of the three finalists will be honored with a cash prize – 5,000 USD for the 1st place, 3,000 USD for the 2nd and 2,000 USD for the 3rd.
