Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Role Summary / Purpose

We are looking for a programmer who would like to solve problems knowing WHAT needs to be done, but not HOW to do it. We are offering a position within an onsite IT Team which gives both comfort and stability of a big corporation and a high dose of autonomy in finding solutions. In this role you would support administrative departments in creating and developing administration tools as well as engineering ones.

  • Creation, development and maintenance of internal data administration systems
  • Managing application servers and databases
  • Close cooperation with administrative and engineering departments
  • Qualifications / Requirements

    • Higher degree
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Windows environment
    • Familiarity with web applications architecture
    • Experience in PHP / OOP and SQL (MS SQL preferred)
    • Good knowledge of HTML & JavaScript
    • Openness to unconventional solutions / out of the box thinking
    • Team worker
    • Good English language knowledge (both verbal and written)
    • Desired

      • MSc graduate
      • Knowledge of Linux environment
      • Knowledge of jQuery / jQuery UI and their derivatives
      • Knowledge of CSS
      • Knowledge of GIT
      • Familiarity with Scrum methodology
