Role Summary / Purpose

In connection with dynamic growth and creation of GE Digital Power Plant within Power Services Engineering at Gas Turbine Center, the team enters exciting & challenging opportunities.

This unique assignment will enable diving into entire power plant scope programs, GE and former Alstom components, and finding innovative digital solutions to the world’s biggest problems.

The Data Process Engineer will own and manage technical programs with an end goal of increasing data integrity, and improving customer asset maintainability, serviceability, reliability, and availability. Technical scope to include root cause analysis, data cleansing, analysis, validation, and verification utilizing a cross functional team of diverse technical experts. Additionally, the Data Process Engineer will directly support digital thread initiatives including fleet configuration management data & other Power Services productivity focused projects.

Responsibilities

  • Continually drive and implement effective process improvements
  • Monitor progress of work and ensure compliance with quality, schedule
  • Develop effective strategies to manage ” As Maintained” config data
  • Define and Create Product Structure of Unit in system of record
  • Extract configuration data from systems of record
  • Support outage planning and turbine and generator service by the creation of parts lists and parts identification
  • Work with cross-functional teams to determine, integrate and maintain Gas Turbine Unit and Part life-cycle data for full plant scope
  • Identify, lead, and execute programs to increase data integrality, data completeness and fleet coverage
  • Support unit specific maintenance interval entitlement initiatives focused on flange-flange and balance of plant
  • Develop and implement data growth programs to increase configuration management and fleet management capabilities
  • Maintain a current level of awareness and understanding of fleet issues and relevant corrective actions
  • Leverage LEAN Six Sigma, Simplification, FastWorks and other relevant tools to drive speed, simplicity and productivity within Services.
  • Qualifications / Requirements

    • BSc/MSc in Engineering and equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of database architectures
    • Additional experience in Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator and Power Plant Operation
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
    • Team worker, hard worker, fast-learner, open- minded person, optimistic attitude
