Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Role Summary / Purpose

The following role will provide finance support to the leadership teams, driving financial visibility of external funding play, cash collection and operating performance of the program. This role gives financial partnership to management, operation & programs including global teams as well.


  • Work together with the program leaders on planning, forecasting and reporting program financials;
  • Drive timeliness & accuracy in financial closing & reporting and manage related communications with FP&A and Program Leaders
  • Design and streamline the settlement process with focus on eligible costs in externally funded projects (co-financed by NCBiR, PAIH, CleanSky, ESA etc.)
  • Maintain accounting, financial reporting, financial control, and information systems to ensure adequate records, appropriate authorizations of transactions, and safeguard assets.
  • Partner with External Funding Team in preparation and evaluation of funding and payment applications (evaluation of grants based on specific criteria; creating a new internal process for managing grants)
  • Preparing essential financial reports for submissions
  • Prepare required reports for internal/external audits and actively participate in audits trials
  • Lead the general accounting, monthly/ quarterly close procedures & reporting process across organization.
  • Act as central contact point for issues arising in processes liaising with Finance, HR/Payroll and Engineering to resolve
  • Participate in internal & external payroll & benefits audits for external funding

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration and significant experience in relevant discipline
  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience in coordinating payroll & benefits or finance processes
  • Strong experience in audit, accounting and/or controllership
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to meet commitments within strict deadlines
  • Take accountability for compliance with relevant legislation and GE Policies
  • Fluent in both Polish and English
  • Skilled in identifying risks & implementing controls
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues
  • Is comfortable to execute through uncertainty
  • Effective interpersonal & communication skills and highly professional style when dealing with GE Country affiliates & auditors
  • Attitude to "own" problems and responsibility areas
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Oracle, Hyperion and/or SAP
  • Ability to use various financial, HR, payroll and accounting systems (Oracle, Hyperion, Platnik, etc.)
