Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

What your role will be based on? / What are your team key projects?

The Instrumentation & Control Engineer selects the new instruments and auxiliary equipment which replace obsolete parts installed on Gas Turbines / Steam Turbines and Centrifugal Compressors.
He/she is able to interface himself/herself directly with Sourcing Team and supplier developing the best solution and matching the customer needs.
Scope of work will be relevant to Instrumentation and Auxiliary Equipment selection for GE and non-GE machines.

You will work on

  • Be responsible for instrument engineering in terms of items selection (instrumentation sensing: Pressure, Temperature, and Vibration; electric motors, valves, actuators, pumps etc.), conceptual, basic and detailed design, timely delivery, quality and compliance with contract scope and procedure
  • Ensure issue of appropriate documentation (Instrument Specification, Layout, Item Data Sheets, Bill of Materials (BoMs))
  • Execute the design, analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using engineering standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements
  • Be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, having the understanding and experience to execute business objectives
  • Interface with Sourcing, Quality and Manufacturing and with Customers and component/system vendors
  • Coordinate and control the activities performed by external resources related to the assigned job
  • Develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals

What we expect from you?

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science/ Technical Diploma or Equivalent Background
  • Experience in an engineering position, particularly for instrument and system engineering
  • Knowledge of European and International standards and regulations (EN, ISA, NEC, NFPA)
  • Ability to independently, with limited support and achieve targets
  • Strong detail focus and product definition quality
  • Ability to work in a global environment
  • Fluency in English

Additional skills

  • Knowledge of Turbines/Compressors instrumentation
  • Basic knowledge of control systems
  • Manufacturing or Installation experience
