Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

What your role will be based on? / What are your team key projects?

A Services Engineer must be able to interpret a customer’s specification/requirements to produce a practical and cost-effective design/solution to meet the design or maintenance requirements. He ensures that the design is correctly transformed into engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, test procedures and ensure manufacturability of design.

You will work on

  • Interpret customer specifications and identify equipment required to satisfy specifications.
  • Ensure that equipment is designed in accordance with current HSE legislation.
  • Prepare and approve factory acceptance test procedures, Operational & Maintenance procedures and inspection/ test reports.
  • Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: risk analysis, failure analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Design Reviews, Design Calculations to establish a full Design Verification Package (DVP) to satisfy the verification plan. Ensure DVP has third party or independent review.
  • Prepare and check layout and detail drawings.
  • Work with repair practices and engineering repair workscopes.
  • Adhere to and meet Engineering work schedules.
  • Provide engineering support for the service of installed Subsea Production Equipment (SSPE), Surface Well Equipment (SWE), Subsea Wellhead Equipment (SSWE) and provide options for customers on refurbishment/ repair of products.
  • Ensure all work is conducted with integrity and in an environmentally and safe manner

What we expect from you?

  • BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Awareness of materials, welding and heat treatment.
  • Knowledge of Engineering design theory and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience in working with 3D CAD software, Creo preferred

Additional skills

Knowledge and experience pertaining to the following would be advantageous:

  • SSPE, SWE, CDE & SSWE product line knowledge.
  • Knowledge of service maintenance procedures & processes
  • Oil & Gas industry knowledge.
  • Teamcenter experience
