Engineering Design Center (EDC) was created under an agreement between General Electric and the Institute of Aviation. Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Role Summary / Purpose

GE Aviation Systems in EDC is taking part in numerous design&analysis processes (wings, nacelles, thrust reversers, etc) and is going to expand its scope of activities on other aircraft body components.
Due to significant engagement of the Aviation Systems organization in Aviation POWER & UNISON projects there is a need for a Lead Engineer in Aero-Thermal analysis, who will drive GE Culture and ensure proper performance and further development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Heat Transfer/CFD analysis for Aviation POWER/ Unison products.
  • Ensure on schedule submission of planned deliverables to external and internal customers.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components and/ or assemblies consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Control and communicate project schedule and budget.
  • Commitment to team effort; co-operation with other engineers.
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
  • Demonstrating highest level of GE Values, Integrity Compliance & GE Growth Initiative. Creating Group culture where all employees fully committed to GE Values, Integrity Compliance & GE Growth Initiative.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced personnel.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • MSc or BSc in Engineering
  • Significant work experience
  • Expertise with running Heat Transfer Analysis and/ or CFD
  • Demonstrated knowledge of P/Thermal and/or commercial CFD codes (Fluent and/or CFX)
  • Understanding of the heat transfer, good proven analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels in global matrix organization
  • Ability to prioritize and lead projects
  • Ability to work under the time pressure
  • Effective written and oral communication skills. Good presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects within given resource and time constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good relationship with co-workers and customers
  • Team worker, hard worker, fast-learner, open- minded person, optimistic attitude.

Desired

  • Knowledge of Hypermesh and Ansys Workbench.
