Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Role Summary / Purpose

In Systems Engineer role you will perform systems engineering tasks in a wide variety of complex avionics programmes and/or aircraft electrical power distribution programmes, and help us grow our capability to satisfy emerging opportunities in both the civil and military aviation sector. You will utilise your skills and expertise to solve engineering problems and have the opportunity to effect short-term and some long-term business goals, spanning multiple products across our global business.


  • Capturing, understanding and documenting the customer’s system requirements and stakeholder expectations
  • Contributing to the creation system designs which specify control, display, monitoring and built in test functions for implementation in electronic hardware and software
  • Participating in avionics systems or power distribution systems architecture design activities
  • Create model-based designs using computer aided engineering tools
  • Creating, planning and performing systems tests
  • Perform avionics system analysis, modeling and simulation
  • Develop requirements for systems test facilities
  • Performing Validation and Verification of systems and products
  • Supporting the definition of interfaces between aircraft and avionics systems and/or power systems

Qualifications / Requirements

  • An appropriate degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics, similar subject, and equivalent experience
  • Understanding of the systems design lifecycle
  • Use of system design and modelling tools (e.g. MATLAB Simulink, SCADE, VAPS, IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect,
  • Knowledge of creating and performing systems tests
  • An understanding of embedded software and / or hardware engineering
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good problem solving and solution building skills


  • Previous experience in an avionics, automotive or similar embedded systems development environment.
  • Understanding of aircraft electrical power systems including generation, primary distribution and secondary distribution.
  • Use of requirements management tools e.g. DOORS
  • A passion for systems engineering and aviation
