Our engineers work in following areas: aircraft jet engines, gas and steam turbines, electric motors and generators, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as industrial installations including pipelines, and automatics. EDC employs over 1800 engineers and is the largest engineering center in the Central Europe.

Role Summary / Purpose

Stress Analysis Lead Engineer – NGNB is a position in an international team of engineers working on preliminary design for new jet engine. Program includes 3D printing methodology and new key innovative technologies. Due to significant work scope increase for new interesting engine design project we are looking for engineers with experience in stress analysis and mechanical design to support/lead all stress analysis in the program. You will be working with design engineers in sites: Poland, USA, India, Germany, Turkey.

Responsibilities

  • Perform static stress calculations (FEM and hand) to assess design solutions for a whole range of tasks ranging from concept design through to detailed design
  • Execute new 2D & 3D stress analyses for advanced specific design
  • Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analysis when required to ensure product structural integrity
  • Identify problems and formulate solutions; take an innovative approach to problem solving generate alternatives & takes risks
  • Develop and execute plans to achieve task objectives
  • Share technical knowledge with others in the group, team and across the organization
  • Provide technical leadership & guidance to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Prepare analysis reports and documentation
  • Interact with design, systems, manufacturing and field service teams to develop high-value structures with high reliability under tight time constraints
  • Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
  • Timely report critical technical issues up through functional management

Qualifications / Requirements

  • BSc/MSc degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Ability to confidently undertake aviation engine stress calculations, and produce clear, concise reports and other documentation, of appropriate quality
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills. Good English (reading, speaking and writing)
  • Ability and availability to travel
  • Significant experience in area of stress analysis
  • Experience in Ansys software (Classic/Workbench)
  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of Hypermesh software
  • Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries
